Greetings!

Just an update to fill you in on what has happened and what is going to be happening.  There were approximately 40 bowlers that went to Madison and Sun Prairie and competed in the Area meets.  Thirteen (Nichole Cook, Merry Ann Johnson, Vickie Luxton, Patricia McGilvra, Shawn Neises, Jackie Puente, Robert Somerau, Teri Spraetz, Theodore, Stricker, Joshua Walsh, David Weiss, Bernice Wildes, and Serene Zwettler) advanced to the western regional level. Four will now go on to compete in the State level. (at right: Shawn Neises, Joshua Walsh, Serene  Zwettler, and Patti McGilvra) in the Milwaukee area. Good luck to them and congratulations to all our athletes who competed.

Our Christmas wreaths were delivered to VARC on Friday, November 16, 2007. If you still want one, there are a few extra. Contact Deb Carroll (983-2719) and Marie Willis (986-6702). We'll try and make sure you get one. The pines were just cut a week ago so they should have a wonderful pine scent for the holidays.

December 19th, 2007, after bowling at Brewster's Lanes, we will be having our annual Holiday Potluck and Raffle. Bring whatever you would like to eat and share with others for the potluck. We've been receiving a lot of nice gift certificates/cards, but we can always use donations for our raffle. Please contact Nancie Cook if have have any donations. Her number is 524-2879 . This year there will be a contest for our athletes to see who can sell the most tickets. Prizes will be given for the top male and female athletes for most tickets sold. You can wither pick up tickets at VARC on November 16th (when the wreaths are delivered) or at bowling on Wednesdays. Carol Moe-Kiefer will be in charge of the tickets, so contact her if you have any questions. Her number is 524-9729. Tickets will be $5.00 each or 3 for $10.00.

If you were at the picnic this fall, you'll remember we had amateur photographers taking pictures for us. These are the two pictures that we have chosen to have copies made of (8 X 10 size). Please look them over and if you want any copies, please let us know. The price will be $2 per copy. They must be paid for before ordering. The final date to order would be December 10, 2007. Contact  either Deb Carroll or Nancie Cook to place your order. We're hoping they will be back so they can be handed out at the Holiday Party.

HEADS UP!!!  In January, I will be sending out nomination forms for male and female athlete of the year, volunteer of the year, coach of the year, agency manager of the year, family of the year, sponsor of the year, etc. This is supposed  to be a new form so if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me, and hopefully I can help you.

Raffle tickets will be available for pickup on Friday, November 16th at VARC. If you need more tickets, or have some left over when you are done, please let Carol know. You can turn in your ticket stubs and money on December 12th at bowling.  If you wish to continue selling after that, be sure to give Carol any remaining stubs and money before bowling on the day of the Raffle.  Tickets will be sold for $5 each or 3 for $10.

The competition was a little tougher, but our teams managed to do well.

First, Second and Third place teams will advance to State Competition in Milwaukee, WI., December 1st, 2007.  We are pleased to send Serene Zwettler, Patty McGilvra, Josh Walsh and Shawn Niesses to State.
