December 11 Reminders!!!For Volunteers: *** There is a new requirement for volunteers. All Class A Volunteers must participate in an online training prior to December 31st, 2007 to maintain active status. Protective Behaviors Training is a critical tool for protecting Special Olympics athletes from sexual, physical, and emotional abuse. Volunteers are required to participate in this new training even if they have been involved with Special Olympics for a long time and have seen older training videos. Online training takes 10-20 minutes to complete. Click this link to begin: Once you've completed the exam, fill out your information and SOWI will be notified that you have met the requirement. Volunteers will need to re-take the online training every three years to maintain active status. Remember, December 31st is the deadline. If you don't have access to the Internet, the public library has computers you can use, or feel free to contact Deb Carroll at 983-2719. Holiday Party and Raffle: Our Holiday Party and Raffle will be after bowling on Wednesday, December 19th. Please bring a dish to pass! November 20 Sauk County Agency 6-52 NewsletterNovember 12, 2007 Greetings! Just an update to fill you in on what has happened and what is going to be happening. There were approximately 40 bowlers that w
December 19th, 2007, after bowling at Brewster's Lanes, we will be having our annual Holiday Potluck and Raffle. Bring whatever you would like to eat and share with others for the potluck. We've been receiving a lot of nice gift certificates/cards, but we can always use donations for our raffle. Please contact Nancie Cook if have have any donations. Her number is 524-2879 . This year there will be a contest for our athletes to see who can sell the most tickets. Prizes will be given for the top male and female athletes for most tickets sold. You can wither pick up tickets at VARC on November 16th (when the wreaths are delivered) or at bowling on Wednesdays. Carol Moe-Kiefer will be in charge of the tickets, so contact her if you have any questions. Her number is 524-9729. Tickets will be $5.00 each or 3 for $10.00. If you were at the picnic this fall, you'll remember we had amateur HEADS UP!!! In January, I will be sending out nomination forms for male and female athlete of the year, volunteer of the year, coach of the year, agency manager of the year, family of the year, sponsor of the year, etc. This is supposed to be a new form so if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me, and hopefully I can help you. November 14 Our 3rd Annual Holiday Raffle
Raffle tickets will be available for pickup on Friday, November 16th at VARC. (Wreath pickup will be at the same time) If you miss this date, please call Carol 524-9729, Deb 983-2719 or Nancie 524-2879. If you need more tickets, or have some left over when you are done, please let Carol know. You can turn in your ticket stubs and money on December 12th at bowling. If you wish to continue selling after that, be sure to give Carol any remaining stubs and money before bowling on the day of the Raffle. Tickets will be sold for $5 each or 3 for $10. Our Prizes are:

October 28 Our First Halloween PartySaturday, October 27, 2007 3-7pm. Cazenovia Community Center It may have been bright and sunny outside, but after entering the front doors of the Cazenovia Community Center, it was definitely a different story. Coach Deb, Pauline, Pam, Liz and Nancie transformed the old Gym into a dark and scary, haunted graveyard! Party goers had their fortunes told, got fake tattoos, decorated Halloween cookies, had potluck supper, and showed off their muscles while trying to smash open 3 pinatas! A costume contest followed. Terry Maldanado and Vickie Luxton were crowned King and Queen of the Halloween Ball. Everyone danced and had a great time.
